Chief Technology Officer Victor Hart slowly took one step back.

“What kind of process?”

A whisper moved through the room.
Ethan slowly sat down.

Sophia opened another file.
Inside were surveillance camera recordings.
Victor was on the video.
He was entering the server room late at night.

For months.
The man’s face turned gray.
“You do not understand the whole picture,” he said.
“Then explain it,” Ethan replied.
For several seconds, Victor said nothing.
Then, unexpectedly, he laughed.
Bitterly.
Tiredly.
Almost madly.
“Fine.”
“You want the truth?”
“Then take it.”
He raised his head.
“Five years ago, I came to you with the idea for a new project.”
“You refused.”
“You said the market was not ready.”
“You said the risk was too high.”
“And a year later, you presented almost the same idea as your own.”
The room went silent.
Ethan turned pale.
He remembered that conversation.
Remembered it far too well.
“So you decided to destroy the company?”
“No.”
“At first, I wanted to prove that everything would collapse without me.”
“Then it became too late to stop.”
He lowered his eyes.
“And after that, I began to hate all of you.”
The silence grew heavy.
But Sophia suddenly shook her head.
“No.”
“It is even worse than that.”
She opened the final file.

A diagram appeared on the screen.

The employees gasped.
Victor had not been alone.

They were the ones planning to bring the company down after the deal failed.
After bankruptcy, the assets were supposed to pass under the control of another corporation.
Everything had been prepared in advance.
“This is impossible…” Ethan whispered.
But the documents said otherwise.
A few hours later, investigators arrived.
The arrests began right inside the building.
By dawn, the entire business world was already discussing the news.
The company had been saved.
The deal with the investors remained intact.

One week later, Ethan invited Sophia into his office.

“What is this?” the young woman asked.

Sophia smiled.
“Engineer?”
Ethan shook his head.

She froze.

“What exactly?”
Ethan looked at her.
